Production duo rom&BAAWLA released their new single “Push The Button” on Sep 10, 2026 via foreign body and Japanese label SPRAYBOX. The first single from their forthcoming October EP draws on the sounds they encountered in Europe, with the aim of making listeners move from the moment they hear it.
The track began with a trip to Europe alongside the foreign body team in June this year. Listening to a wide range of music and meeting people they might not have encountered on their own gave the duo fresh inspiration. The fast, rough-edged breakbeats and bass they heard stayed with them, eventually finding their way into “Push The Button”.
The title comes from a simple idea: press a button and something starts immediately. Just as a light switches on or a door opens, the duo wanted the music to prompt an instant response. Their focus was on rhythm and bass that get the body moving before there is any need for an explanation.
Releasing the track with SPRAYBOX, a Japanese label they have long admired, also holds personal significance for the duo. As they begin the run-up to their October EP, rom&BAAWLA say: “There’s still plenty to share about the EP, so for now, we’ll start by pressing the first button.”
