CIRCUS, the heart of Tokyo’s underground club scene, is coming to Seoul. Invited by SOLEIL and foreign body, “SOLEIL presents CIRCUS TAKEOVER” takes place at JJ Mahoney’s Lounge, Grand Hyatt Seoul, on Friday, Sep 11, 2026. Genick and kyo from Japanese UK music crew SPRAYBOX join a lineup of Seoul DJs, bringing the two cities together on one dancefloor.
Operating in Tokyo and Osaka, CIRCUS is a club and promoter connecting Japanese artists with international guests. Its programming spans house, techno, UK garage, jungle, drum & bass and beyond, creating space for new music and the communities around it. The Seoul takeover brings that ongoing exchange to another city’s club scene.
Joining CIRCUS is SPRAYBOX, a Japanese dance music label and DJ crew sharing the country’s UK bass music with audiences at home and abroad. Members Genick and kyo will play sets centred on UK garage and jungle. Their selections offer a chance to hear how these sounds have found a home on Japanese dancefloors.
Representing Seoul are DOBERMAN, MAR VISTA, h4rdy, MULTIVSN and YENN. The five DJs bring their own perspectives, including DOBERMAN’s fluid connection between hip-hop and UK garage, MAR VISTA’s roots in house and UKG, and h4rdy’s garage, grime and UK funky selections. Together with their Japanese guests, they explore the points of connection between DJs listening to and making music in different cities.
Invited by SOLEIL and foreign body, CIRCUS TAKEOVER runs for seven hours, from 8pm until 3am the following morning. The event is curated and supported by JJ Mahoney’s, with tickets available through Naver Booking.
